GMAT and GRE Testing Extension

MP Guru
We understand that many of you applying in Round 1 or Round 2 may be thinking through all the elements you need to submit as part of your MBA application. If you’re like me, you may have laid out some checklists and to-do's for yourself, and taking the GMAT or GRE may be on your list. We too are busy planning for our upcoming admissions cycle and one of the many things we have been watching closely is the availability of the GMAT and GRE.

We continue to accept either the in person or online versions of each of these tests. Even with these options, we understand that some of you do not have access to taking the GMAT and GRE, given the extraordinary disruptions of COVID-19. For this reason, this year we are offering a testing extension for individuals who do not have access to the GMAT or GRE to give you additional flexibility as we all try to manage through this public health situation.

If this applies to you (you cannot take the GMAT or GRE due to outside circumstances), you may request an extension that, if approved, will allow you to submit your application without a test score and provide the score as soon as it is available. The applications must still be received by our Round 1 application deadline (September 8, 2020) or our Round 2 application deadline (January 6, 2021). The Admissions Board will only review your application once we have your test score, so we strongly encourage you to submit scores as soon as you are able. For those with an approved text extension, the last date to submit a GMAT or GRE test score and be considered for the Class of 2023 is June 1, 2021.

Given the number of testing centers that have reopened and the wide availability of online tests, we anticipate the number of approved extension requests will be small. Please request a test extension only if you do not have access to taking the GMAT or GRE as it is currently offered. To learn about the process for requesting a testing extension and to find out if you’re eligible, visit the COVID-19 FAQs.

Thank you again for all the time and energy you are putting into your application process, especially in these difficult times. We certainly look forward to getting to know you more in the coming months.
