FACEBOOK will unveil a new internet-based email service designed to compete directly against Google's Gmail product, a report says....

the social networking giant will showcase the new email service -- allegedly referred to, inside Facebook, as the "Gmail killer" -- at a special event next week at company headquarters in California.

The move comes a week after it was revealed that Facebook is working on an e-mail system it hopes can beat Google's. The e-mail product, known as Project Titan, was almost immediately dubbed a "Gmail killer" in tech circles.
While Google dominates search, it lacks Facebook's social-networking ability. Gmail is the fastest-growing e-mail service, with 176 million unique visitors in December, according to comScore, but it is seen as a tool for communicating rather than networking.

well, it has been along time since Fmail has been launched, but still, due to the quality of copntent of google, Gmail is still best . Rather Facebook's Fmail is nowhere to be seen. Almost negligable!
