GLASS CEILING
? The Glass Ceiling is the term applied to
the systematic de facto exclusion of
women from the upper tiers of
corporate management. Its name is
derived from the situation where
women are supposedly guaranteed the
same opportunities for advancement as
men, but never receive promotions.
Women can “look” up at higher
positions, but are blocked from reaching
them—like a clear ceiling.
