---------->>>>>

Gd taker: we start with intro.. frm all the people.. as education, exp..

snowman2cool: Rochit from TYBMS Lala College

vyankatesh rathi: vyankatesh from TYBMS SMT.C.H.M COLLEGE, ULHASNAGAR

PRERNA JAIN: Prerna from FYBMS MITHIBAI COLLEGE, VILE PARLE

Gd taker: the topic for todays gd is --->> PSU DISINVESTMENT

vyankatesh rathi: psu disinvestment

PRERNA JAIN: I think this year the govt. should concentrate on tha PSU disinvestment coz disinvestment in PSU helps in deepening and widening the domestic capital market

vyankatesh rathi: can u elaborate

vyankatesh rathi: prerna

PRERNA JAIN: Also, it will help in releasing huge amount of money that can be used for social as well as infrastructure projects.

snowman2cool: newayz Psu disinvestment has two sides

vyankatesh rathi: all things hav two sides

vyankatesh rathi: but disinvstng profitable units will not help

snowman2cool: psu disinvestment is like our government sold the navratnas the main companies which made profits to private players

vyankatesh rathi: thts wht i said

PRERNA JAIN: so what!

snowman2cool: so the governmet is controlling them we are at the rpivate players mercy

PRERNA JAIN: but u shld also look to th =ve points of it.

snowman2cool: positive or negative

PRERNA JAIN: +ve*

snowman2cool: positive or negative

snowman2cool: ok

vyankatesh rathi: wht are positive points

snowman2cool: more productivity

PRERNA JAIN: price reduction

snowman2cool: increased profits

PRERNA JAIN: better quality

snowman2cool: increased competitiveness

vyankatesh rathi: but wht if thy turn blind eye

vyankatesh rathi: to all these

PRERNA JAIN: reduced monopoly

vyankatesh rathi: and use it for their benefits

snowman2cool: but

snowman2cool: there is a catch

vyankatesh rathi: wht

PRERNA JAIN: this has never happened yet

vyankatesh rathi: it may be going on

snowman2cool: we are increasing our economy by doing so

vyankatesh rathi: its just its not yet publishd

snowman2cool: but there are staff reduction...

vyankatesh rathi: ya

vyankatesh rathi: thy cuttin down jobs

snowman2cool: more unemployment

vyankatesh rathi: see the negative points

snowman2cool: we are at thier mercy

vyankatesh rathi: whts the use of growin econmy ifits does not benefit the people

snowman2cool: we want power then calll reliance

snowman2cool: reliance cuts power wait for them

snowman2cool: government does not cut power !!

vyankatesh rathi: and thy dont respond fast

PRERNA JAIN: do u think if the govt. gives employment, then these employed people r workin properly?

vyankatesh rathi: govt does cut power

snowman2cool: see employment is another issue

vyankatesh rathi: who told private employees wrk properly

PRERNA JAIN: they do work coz they hv pressure of the work to get done from their superiors.

snowman2cool: but they hav the responsibility.... i hav seen public company employees getting things done

PRERNA JAIN: howeverin th public sec. they dont.

snowman2cool: working is not the issue

vyankatesh rathi: but if superiors wrk for thwir benefit thn whts the use disinvstn profitable units

snowman2cool: the main thing is

vyankatesh rathi: psu shuld not be disinvstd

PRERNA JAIN: ok then y do u think the govt. transferred the energy sector to ambani's?

vyankatesh rathi: just their shuld be a proper management in those units so as thy wrk properly

snowman2cool: psu divestment is harmful to our society becos as private player bring in efficiency they cut down staff which leads to unemployment..... our INDIA is overspilling... people are more.... they need food

PRERNA JAIN: bcoz private sector gives better results thn th public ones

snowman2cool: we need labour intensive companies

snowman2cool: rethe yhan machine intensive

vyankatesh rathi: i agree snowoman

PRERNA JAIN: but i dont

vyankatesh rathi: and prerna thts wht im sayin

vyankatesh rathi: see reliance do not provide electricity properly

snowman2cool: psu's no thwe responsibility towards the society.. the public.. they are answerable to the public
but private players are not answerable to anyoone ...... THIS IS THE POINT

PRERNA JAIN: it does

vyankatesh rathi: well thn y do we hear news

vyankatesh rathi: about irregular supply of electricty
vyankatesh rathi: and overchrgin of bills

vyankatesh rathi: prerna

PRERNA JAIN: then y wer there power failures in the rural areas?

snowman2cool: listen i live in mumbai i dont experience any problems regarding anything whatsoever but look at a different point of view look at thane etc

PRERNA JAIN: after when reliance has entered , it has made an attempt to reduce this

vyankatesh rathi: power failures are causd due to ever incrsin dmnd of electricity

snowman2cool: ya

PRERNA JAIN: so th govt. shld b able to provide it

vyankatesh rathi: u cant expect govt to install new transformers wvery now and thn

snowman2cool: they do it

vyankatesh rathi: govt is tryin

snowman2cool: government employess have realised the compettion

vyankatesh rathi: it needs people support

PRERNA JAIN: ok lets tk the eg. of railways

snowman2cool: take an exmple of MTNL it is the best..... look at thier prices... less than any private players

PRERNA JAIN: they r gettin crowded day by days

snowman2cool: railways is not an exmple

vyankatesh rathi: if public dont coo-operate how wil govt deliver service

snowman2cool: right gaurang

PRERNA JAIN: wht is th govt. doin for it?

snowman2cool: rav*

vyankatesh rathi: govt is installin new lines

snowman2cool: govt is squeezing itself to fit in

snowman2cool: lol

vyankatesh rathi: tracks

vyankatesh rathi: if u see between kalyan and thane

snowman2cool: new tracks.. new coaches

PRERNA JAIN: if this had would b th case

snowman2cool: w8 else du want

vyankatesh rathi: to incrse trains

vyankatesh rathi: ya

snowman2cool: only problem is shitty public

vyankatesh rathi: right

PRERNA JAIN: then u would hv never hear th news of daily accidents which take place

vyankatesh rathi: mentality of people has to chng

snowman2cool: migrating from any corner to find luck and these squatters ruin the whole infrastructure

Gd taker: now i would like u people to conclude one-by-one....

snowman2cool: Keep profitable PSU's and sell the Loss making ones !!!!!! thats all

vyankatesh rathi: just chng the mentality of public and turn loss makin psu in profitable ones

PRERNA JAIN: i hv never find th govt. of india efficient as it is corrupt.
PRERNA JAIN: So its better tht v give crucial sectors to private
PRERNA JAIN: so tht people cn get beter quality, hidh std. of living & multiple chices

take care

RESULTS--->>

This GD was better than the first one..

People did put in some relevant points.. but also went out of the topic too..

I can consider Prerna & Snowman2cool for the next round..
But as there were less number of people (only 3), this situation cannot be accepted.

Then too there should be relevane to be added to the GD....

I would request all the people to come in & gain more & more knowledge..
If they have any feedback... do post it.. & also if there are any suggestions, do let us know the same

People coming in GD are again requested to ''AVOID ONE LINERS''... make statements & then pass it.. we understand that it takes time, but then too..

take care

take care
as far as disinvestment of PSU are concerned, i personally feel that the navratnas should be completely owned by the govt. (no disinvestment in these units)... as far as other profit making or sick PSU are concerned they should be disinvested... as i think govt. is here for regulating and maintaining law.. and not doing business and filling their pockets.. to that extent that they can feed their coming 7 generations.
