The central government pays to the commission in each financial year such sums as may be considered necessary for the performance of the commission.
The commission receives three funds, namely:
• The Khadi Fund
• The Village Industries Fund
• General & Miscellaneous Fund

(a) All sums received by the Commission under khadi fund are for the purposes relating to khadi.

(b) All sums received by the Commission under village industries fund are for the purposes relating to village industries and products of handicrafts.

(c) All other sums received by the Commission fall under miscellaneous fund.

If the sum made available for any of the funds is in excess of the actual requirement, and that in any other is insufficient to meet the requirements, the commission shall with the approval of the central government transfer the surplus amount of the former to the latter.
The Commission may for the purpose of development of khadi, the development of village industries or the development of khadi and village industries, receive gifts, grants, donations or benefactions from the Government or any other person.
