The politics of public feedback seems to be ising. !hile seeking public
feedback about go"enment is good and #e ae told that this #as e"en
pacticed duing height of monachy by $geat% kings. &o#e"e' in the cuent
democatic set up' it has taken the fom of $competito% bashing and
feedback ae sought fom public about political stuctues #ith #hich odinay
public has no diect inteaction #ith but has only limited ideas about thei
functioning. (eedless to say that the feedback ecei"ed on public electonic
platfoms ae likely to be eithe negati"e o iele"ant #ith a fe# smat bains
likely to dominate and attempt to tilt public opinion. The $data% then #ill be
used to demolish old stuctue and built upon it something ne# to ceate a
mystic aua of the ne# po#es that be on and this #ill be done in the name of
$public% opinion and feedback. )olitics of this kind is a"oidable since this can
esult in potentially upsetting esults as some paties may ty to seek public
opinion of $politco*social% ogani+ation%s e,istence in some states and use it to
ban these ogani+ations on the back of public opinion and feedback and again
the culpit #ill be the same i.e. lack of kno#ledge of the membes of public.
Thee can be se"eal hunded such stuctues both #ithin go"enment as #ell
as in public se"ice domain #hich can be susceptible to such politicking.
!hile it cannot be denied that the cuent go"enment caies a mandate fo
$change%' it must be used #ith appopiate caution. -t should be undestood
that politicking about $change% is not the mandate fo the cuent egime and
#as not pat of stated manifesto of any political paty o leadeship.
Demolishing old stuctues should be on the back of deepe study about the
stuctue and functioning of such political stuctues as #ell as a deep
undestanding of $inteactions% of such stuctues #ith othe #ings of
go"enment at di.eent le"el as #ell as #ith $public%. The /a#s and
shotcomings should be identi0ed and used to ceate ne# stuctues. The
go"enment should be able to 1ustify ho# $ne#% stuctue #ill be de0nitely
bette than old in $leaned debates% and communicate the same to public.

the utility of such stuctue fom public is at best' a"oidable. The cuent
egime must gi"e cedit to such old stuctue that they ha"e kept the $people%
engaged #ith them and thei ideas3policy set and pocedues ha"e helped in
binding people' othe institutions in states and cente and pi"ate as #ell as
intenational bodies' to cohabit togethe e"en duing times of chonic
po"ety4 #hen in othe counties "iolence and lack of democacy 5in elati"e
tems6 ha"e pe"ailed in such situations 5including #itheing of states in
some cases6. !e need to impo"e upon the positi"e outcomes fom such old
stuctues. -nstead of opinions on eplacement of old #ith ne#4 comments

cuent stuctue and then coect the /a# basis $acceptable% citicism 5fee of

not so leaned opinions. This can thus be used to modify the old stuctues'

of poposed ne# stuctue should also be open to public scutiny and
suggestions37uestions and leadeship should act statesman*like in such
