Family owned business v/s professionally owned business

Family owned business is an good option as business is going from the last many years grandfather to father, father to son and it also to maintain the tradition to keep alive.
 
For me anyone who is thinking about to start a business then he/she should first understand their internal skills, strength and most important passion or interest. If someone do not take interest in family business then he/she should go for the one in which he is passionate about.
