Everyone Needs Appreciation

How often do leadership training programs stress the importance of leaders recognizing and rewarding great work, fantastic attitudes, and an excellent work ethic in the people who work for them; but have you ever thought about how often those above you in leadership positions ever receive ANY kind of informal appreciation from others?

If leaders never receive the Appreciation portion they miss out on what most human’s desire consistent validation that they are making a difference on a human level. Remember that leaders are human and appreciation flows both ways.

We have no right to ask when a sorrow comes, Why did this happen to me? unless we ask the same question for every joy that comes our way.

In personal and in business relationships people respond well to being noticed and appreciated for their efforts and input. Surely appreciation and recognition are plain good manners.

Positive strokes are an important way of recognizing someone’s efforts too, but they need to be unconditional to really make their mark. It is important to keep people motivated and enthusiastic in every area of their lives. Praise and thanks are important tools to use, and they are free to give.

A person feels more confident in their abilities and skills when someone has praised their efforts and their work. Appreciation flows when one acknowledges some good thing that has occurred in life, or some good deed, or some good individual. Appreciation walks hand in hand with love, honor, gratitude, delight. It is composed of these separate qualities and, like them, must be expressed.

Appreciate your Self! This act alone brings gifts of love, life and wealth into your daily experience.
