era of promotion

Marketing is itself a very huge topic and a very deep too . Here m going to write about one of the powerful P’s out of four p’s in marketing i.e. PROMOTION . Doing promotion of a product is inherent in our history rite form our mythological period . Promotion is of very different type .like in historical period there is a trend where servants went to go in villages for announcement of any new scheme .

But as the time passes promotion saws its different shades or may be companies always comes some innovative ideas of Promotion which really surprises the consumers.

Earlier in 70-80’s companies using a strategies of promoting their product in a very positive manner they always shows the positive side of their product and its effects on the consumer. As we all knows that nothing stand forever . this is one of the best way of promoting and it is going on today.

In 90’s companies come with a new and a innovative idea for promotion i.e promotion through a beautiful and smiling girls/women’s in almost all the new launching product we find a woman prompting the product which really strong the value of woman’s in society and it still going on in a very huge manner but the difference is earlier women’s used as a showpiece but now they are actually become a showpiece by exposing themselves unnecessary in the promotion . It is a very good promotion strategies companies took place in this male dominating culture women’s find there ay out and making them stand on their feet .

I’m sharing my personal experience in this type of promotion . I went to take participate in IIT DELHI”S annual fest “RENDEVOUS” so there is a stall in of BINDAS SUPERDUDE season 2 .a very good brand name and a very popular serial among youths they are promoting their upcoming show first they bring a super bike in there stand a king size chair for winner of the contest and they host were promoting and hardely get much audience but then they bring two very beautiful foreign model .As the model stand along with the bike with a smiling face their stall get so much crowded that they can’t even handle them. Their tag line was “winner will get a chance to have a snap with bike along with the model their strategy works and youth got crazy to have a snap with those beautiful model ..

As the passes of time and thinking of customers companies are taking another step in the promotion that is “negative promotion strategy “ these types of promotion strategies mostly seen in tv serials in which producer try to cook there dish on the other’s stove . these type of promotions we usually call them a publicity stunt but actually it’s a promotion strategy

This type of strategy we witness in d movie MY NAME IS KHAN release when SRK got interrogated in USA airport. The film producer were trying to get much benefit from that issue tried to build an emotional attachment with public . this type of promotional strategy recently used in the big boss serial . When salman khan was taking name of mr srk in his show the producer of the program where showing this short of clip throughout a day just to gain the attention of the public and trying to float a message that there is much more mirch & massal in todays episode

It shows that how the cooperate world changing themselves as the change in taste & preferences of customers. Now the question is what next kind of promotion in upcoming time ?
