The program got off to a good start with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the launch of E-Cell website by Ms. Shradha Sharma. SIOM Director Dr. Vandana Sonwaney then addressed the gathering. This was followed by a presentation by students on what the E-Cell Vision and Mission are, what are the planned activities for the forthcoming year and so on. SIOM’s very first success story Zuna Consultancy Services, a brainchild of 6 students of the 2008-10 batch also shared their story with the audience. The startup aims to bridge the gap between academic and industrial requirements and is currently oriented towards helping SMEs in Nashik. They have already successfully implemented their first project in Nashik and are currently working on their second. Thereafter, the 4 guests shared their experiences on how they started off their ventures and their respective journeys towards success. While Mr. Gupta enthralled the gathering with his energy and passion; Mr. Raichura lightened the atmosphere with his own humorous account of how Management Paradise came about. Mr. John shared with the students the importance he saw in the power of Internet as a means to foster one’s ideas and Ms Shradha Sharma with all her charisma shared her own story of her journey through being employed at big brands and finally creating a brand of her own – YourStory.in

The event came to a close with an open forum where the students had a chance to ask the young entrepreneur guests their queries and doubts regarding entrepreneurship. At the end of the day, the message was clear. Passion, determination and perseverance; “never say die” attitude is what it takes. One doesn’t require a strong financial backing or a great technical know how on what you venture into. It’s the attitude that counts to be an entrepreneur.
