Alaa Rady

Alaa is one of the founders of Enmaa Financial Services, a boutique Investment Bank in
Egypt and KSA established since 2007. The company closed transactions for more than
300M US$ over the past 8 years focusing on the MENA region, besides its Strategy
Consulting and Financial Advisory services. Alaa is also an Angel Investor focusing on
startups in several professional service firms, and was co-heading the Entrepreneurship
Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce working on establishing an angel
investor network for the first time in Egypt in 2010.

Alaa’s corporate background spans Strategy Consulting, Financial Services and General
Management including startups and turnarounds with different companies like Mars Inc.,
Bain & Company and Philip Morris International across different geographies including the
UAE, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, KSA, Qatar, Kuwait, Algeria, France and Spain over the past
15 years. Alaa last served as the General Manager of Philip Morris International in Jordan
and Palestine from 2012 until 2015, leading a very successful post-acquisition turnaround for
a factory that Philip Morris acquired in 2011 that was brought from losses to significant
profitability. Alaa is currently on sabbatical from the corporate world to finish his doctorate
and focus on some of his angel investments in Egypt and the region, and will serve as
Visiting Professor of Practice at the American University in Cairo.

Alaa is a construction engineer from the American University in Cairo, and received his
MBA from INSEAD in France and Singapore, where he spent a part of his program in
Wharton Business School in the US. Alaa also founded the INSEAD alumni association in
Egypt in 2008, headed it until 2011 and currently chairs its Board of Directors. Alaa is
currently finishing his Doctorate of Business Administration at IE business school in Spain,
and has contributed several academic and business publications on entrepreneurship and
corporate finance over the past 8 years.

Alaa spends a good portion of his time working on volunteer projects all-over Africa, South
America and Asia with various NGOs like Habitat for Humanity in Chile, La Milagrosa in
Venezuela, Coup de Pouce in France, TechnoServe in Mozambique, Antelope Park in
Zimbabwe, Injaz in Egypt and Jordan, CRTP in Mongolia, Nahdet El Mahrousa, Endeavor
and Am Cham in Egypt. Alaa has been further advising the Egyptian Cabinet since the
beginning of 2015 on the restructuring/turning around of state-owned-enterprises.
