The Wahl Clipper Corporation, based in Sterling, Illinois, manufactures grooming products for humans and other animals.
The company was founded on the strength of Leo J. Wahl's patent for an electromagnetic hair clipper in 1919. In 1965 Wahl introduced the first vacuum clipper, which allowed a person's hair to be cut without use of a cape. In 1967 Wahl produced the first cordless hair clipper using its own rechargeable battery technology. Four years later it started an electronics division with the world's first cordless and rechargeable soldering iron. In 1975 the company released a line of back and foot massagers utilizing the vibrating motor technology used in their hair trimmers. In 1984 Wahl invented the first cordless consumer beard and mustache trimmer. In 2001 it patented the first vacuuming consumer beard trimmer, the Trim N Vac. Wahl manufactures its clippers and trimmers in its own factories in Sterling, Illinois; Germany, England, China, and Hungary.
Wahl is also a brand of men's trimmers including trimmers for beards, mustaches, goatees, body, and ear / nose & brow.
Products are sold in over 150 countries world wide under the brands Wahl, Moser, Lister and more recently Groom Ease. In 2006 Wahl licensed the For Dummies brand from John Wiley & Sons publishing company and launched the Home Haircutting for Dummies product line.

Wahl Clipper, the number one Brand of Consumer and Professional Hair Products, is searching for a sales leader to continue our multi-year trend of double-digit growth in our Consumer Division.

In times when many companies are cutting personnel, Wahl Clipper hasn’t laid anyone off in forty years and continues to expand around the world with our products being sold in 165 countries and manufactured in our own factories spread across four continents. This position will report to Director of North America Consumer Sales.

The successful Sales Manager will have the following qualifications and experience:

• Minimum 5 years sales leadership with experience in consumer packaged goods.

• Must have significant experience in successful selling to Walgreens. Sears, Kmart, Kohls, Meijer, Big Lots and Menards are additional accounts in Region.

• Successful experience managing Independent Rep. organizations.

• Have a proven track record in Fact Based Selling (analyzing data, developing story, presenting and implementing strategies) that have created demand and maximized sales while maintaining profit margins.

• Ability to work as part of a Sales & Marketing Team with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Must be ethical and honest.

• The preferred candidate will have a business degree but we will consider equivalent work experience.

WAHL CLIPPER PENSION PLAN is a Defined Benefit Plan providing retirees with a predetermined monthly retirement benefit upon reaching a specific age. The retirement benefit paid to a retiree is typically calculated using a formula which often employs years of credited service under the plan and salary information. The retirement benefit is typically payable to the employee upon attainment of their normal retirement age for the remainder of his/her lifetime. Benefits under this type of plan are often referred to as accrued benefits. This type of plan does not maintain individual accounts for employees.
It is important to remember that under this type of plan, the Alternate Payee is typically not awarded a lump sum cash payment from the Plan. It is usually a requirement of the Plan that the amount awarded to the Alternate Payee be expressed in terms of a monthly benefit payable for either the lifetime of the Participant or the Alternate Payee.

Marketing Manager

This positioned will be based out of our world headquarters in Sterling, IL.

If you have an established track record of success and are looking for a high profile position in a very successful consumer products company we have a unique opportunity for you that has opened up due to the upcoming retirement of our current category leader. The successful Marketing Manager will have the following qualifications and experience:

•Compensation and relocation assistance will be commensurate with the high level of this position and the candidate’s experience.

•Minimum 5 years marketing leadership with experience in consumer products

•Successful track record of developing and marketing consumer products in the retail environment.

•Experienced with market research and analysis

•Be a self-directed leader and a strategic thinker willing to assume P&L responsibility

•Innovative and inventive along with practical problem solving ability.

•Team player with the ability to work with sales people, manufacturing and operations, and be able to direct creative / graphics personnel as well as direct employee supervision and review

•Possess excellent oral and written communication skills

•Must be ethical and honest
