People find authenticity in leadership. How do we come know about authenticity? Things like the leadership roots can help you understand the same. Authentic leaders possess integrity, integrity means total congruence between who we are and what we do, it goes far beyond telling the truth. It is the true voice of leader. Authentic expression is not about refining our presentation style and much more. Expressing authentically is about straight talk that creates value. It’s about sharing your real thoughts and feelings in a manner that opens up possibilities. Authentic leaders are characterized by qualities such as highest integrity, commitment to building enduring organizations, a deep sense of purpose, and being true to their core values.

You know what authentic leaders have insight & demonstrate initiative. Sometimes we refer to this as vision, but that usually has exclusive reference to the future.

Authentic leaders have impact & exercise integrity. At the end of the day, leaders make a difference. The world is changed because of their leadership. They are able to create real and lasting change. Unless something has shifted, they aren’t leaders.

They lead from the heart. Business is about people. Leadership is about people. They are courageous. It takes a lot of courage to go against the crowd. It takes a lot of courage to be a visionary. They build teams and create communities. One of the primary things that people are looking for in their work experience is a sense of community. They commit to excellence rather than perfection. No human being is perfect. They speak their truth. In business today, we frequently 'swallow our truth'. We say things to please others and to look good in front of The Crowd. Authentic leaders are different. They consistently talk truth.
