Election Expenses-who is accountable?

I'm finding now-a-days re-election is happening quite frequently.After re-election one party emerges as the winner and rest of the things goes.But who is held accountable for the election expense incurred for the first time when the election was held.Moreover,90% of the time re-election happens only due to vandalism.

Why is the Govt wasting the people's money due to the unscruplous acts of some morons.Watz the solution for this?According to me let the whole expenses of the election process has to be divided among the individuals/parties contesting the election and nt a penny of tax money should be invested in this.

i think solution is cutting down so many independent parties. as this will help in stopping of switching of parties and reelection. we can have only two big parties and and member should sign a bond with the party as we have in a corporate. this will stop reelection and good and stable govt
 
Elections were meant to be a democratic way to bring a leader to make country grow faster.... whts happening is d opposite... I recently read dat elec cost may increase twofold dis time....to some billions of rupees.... I think v need to address d issue of the selection procedure to make the post permanent 4 d tenure
 
Elections are the way we wanted our democracy to work with,we the people of India wanted to give the highest priority to the common man of this country to make his choice over who would rule this country,and are we able to manage it the way we have decided it to be? millions of Rs are spent today for electing one MP and the hard earned money of the tax payers of this country is wasted and washed off the drain and no one is at least accountable,I feel the money factor must be made accountable the laws of the country must be atleast so stringent to make the people who are spending made accountable. and it must be their money and that too alimit must be made about it.

i kind of agree, though the best solution would also be to cut down the large funds parties already get.

in democracy it's also fare to fund political parties in order to promote a higher level of discussion. Ideally, of course. And not to fund interests and corruption...
