Education needs more practical.

You must have detailed, elaborated bit more your thoughts.

Were u in a position to select a stream at Primary Level. Many even today dont know what after Xth or XII what to do. Parents still are the Pressure Group for many childrens.

Actually, its the whole education system which focusses on volume production. Here a Teachers Job is really impt. They shud be able to catch a childs instinctive skills and guide accordingly.

But with so many students and absurd teacher : student ratio, we cannot blame them and have to be satisfied with Rat Race.

Even General knowledge is lacked by many well educated.

yes it need to be practical coz studies become more easier due to it + its fun + we are exposed to so many things around us instead of jus mugging up those useless theories time n again

I remember a quote by a leading industrialist of India that only 20-25% of the engg graduates passing from Indian institutes are industry ready and employable. This statement itself reflects the need for a practical apporach in the existing course design.

Yes...........I am agree with u frnd......... Preparing students for the world outside the school gate involves teachers in the task of keeping pace with technological change............. So our education sysyem needs to be more practical than theoritical..........

But one school student can't take decision on his own (off course with d help of parents) to choose proper career option between various options in his childhood.......

as squareleg said,

Many even today dont know what after Xth or XII what to do. Parents still are the Pressure Group for many childrens.

So I would say that govt shud provide proper facilities for school n colg students to get them practical knowledge..........

I wud say the right mix of both the theory and practical makes a student to complete understand the concepts better. For e.g jus by making triangle, rectangle with papers doesn't mean that the student has learned goemetry. The concepts, formulae with the practical expl will make the students to understand it in a better way.

yes education today should have a more practical approach as bookish knowledge will not contribute towards country growth

Education needs more Practical...
Coz we are studing several concept in our Theory papers...
But we need practical knowlege to implement it...
Even Case studies help us a Lot.
eg) Consider statistics Paper, We are studing lot of Tools here, But we don't know where to apply it...
In such cases, Practical knowledge is very important...
:whip:

Yes.. it is a fact because due to the large number of engg colleges in India , most of the private engg. colleges dont maintain the minimum standard and the freshers from these colleges are not industry ready.

yes, i think both theoritical n practical knowledge r important as theoritical knowledge provide us how 2 do things n practical knowledge helps us to make use of of this knowledge in real life..

Looking at the educational structure of india...now as preprimary has been shifted to 3 yrs...in india it is preferred that a child should go to school as early as possible..!! whereas if we look at in developed countries a child starts edu at a levl when he/she is of atleast 5 to 7 yrs of age..
looking at the education type...then its very shameful that in india same books and contents are used since decades.!!! Nothing changed.
One thing which i see very important and that is whr indian education lags is the LACK OF RESEARCH WORK..
A Professor from Australia once visited our college and told us abt education system in austraila.. how they keep on researching new new things..but in india we are COMPELLED to follow same old path...!!
Definitely Education in india should be more of practical rather than going CCP way ol the time through generations...!!

Theoritical knoweledge we gather during our studies we may forget and what we do practically it remains in our memory for longer period. But to learns the things practically we must and should have theory, because theory teaches us basics

i would say theory and practical study are related with each other in one or other way. it makes the study more easy and understanding.

Consider an Automobile Engineer who is thorough in his theory, also compare him with a Automobile mechanic who is an expert, not even passed 10th standard.

:nonono:In which engineering college did the Mechanic study the theory ???? to become an automobile expert ???:nonono:

Theory gives the thorough knowledge about the subject, But it would be quite boring and Vague, while comparing with Practical Knowledge....
