The question is

Dubai is currently aiming at the newly rich, both in Asia and
the West. In the long run Dubai wants to attract some 15 million
tourists per year. These cannot be the rich anymore. How can Dubai stay
attractive for the newly rich and - at the same time - aim at tourism
for the masses?

Please make some suggestions friends what do you all think i am doing a research on Dubai and every suggestion will be appreciated ...

Once again thanks for your time

Regards, Raz

Introduction

The United Arab Emirates is a federation of seven emirates or states, each with its own unique character and personality but yet united with a common goal and destiny. The seven emirates are; Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al-Qaiwain, Ras Al-Khaimah, and Fujairah. Dubai is the second largest emirate in the U.A.E. Its total area is around 1000 square miles.

Dubai’s long term survival: tourism-the development of islands

Commodities
Much of Dubai's was previously dependant on its oil reserve but with depletion in sight, in recent years Dubai has shifted its focus towards tourism as a main source of income. All year sun sandy white beaches along the Arabian Gulf coast make Dubai an attractive place to visit or live

The extension of the cost line began with developing three islands that form the palm Islands (palm Jumeirah, palm Jebel Ali and Palm Deira). Their design allows 52- extra kilometres of coastline, along with more than 100 luxury hotels, 12,000 residential villas, 10,000shoreline apartments, luxury homes, marinas, water theme parks, restaurants, shopping malls sport facilities.

I also wrote few points on customers & their competitors that Since 2002, it has been possible for non-nationals to own freehold property in selected developments, including the Palm and world Islands. Madonna, Bill Clinton and the William sisters, David Beckham, Michael Owen and Francesco Totti, have also invested in properties.

but still working on research and way to go...but thanks for your interest....I appreciate any kind of help or comments but if you can find some thing with sources or references that would be great.

Cheers

bluesnsar: just ot refresh your memory, dubai is the one of the epicentre of gold market. the amount of people it attracts in tis Carnival is huge. for commercial purposes the dubai govt. is promoting low income tax rates(<1%)
secondly there exists a cultural niche in UAE.
dubai can attract a lot of english tourist: because the exchange rate is quite luring. one dirham is cheap against dollar.

to attract rich tourists dubai has concentrated on real estate matters and bullion market. whereas for masses they can go marketing the natural habitat.

Dubai is known for its innovative architectural wonders.... and also the very famous Shopping Festival... ppl frm world over visit Dubai for th shopping options that are provided... also the real estate business in Dubai is booming... You can concentrate on all these points nd then build up on them...

Hi guyz,

Thankyou for your comments really great but still my question is how can it keep attracting newly rich in long run yaar. I mean lets not think about today cuz the market is booming new hotels, malls, gold market etc i understand that but do you guyzz think is this all going to last long and lets not forget their target of 15million tourists is it feasible for them for the next ten years with other asian countries coming up in competition. i dont know but i am thinking on long run please. I hope you all understand what i mean.

Once again thnx a lot friends...

Raz,

In the long run, as you mentioned before.. the real estate and the kindof palm island n various king size luxurious hotels they have .. they are obviously way better than kashmirs dal lake etc..

In future too.. My best guess is that NRIs will be investing in real estate market of dubai which is very lucrative..

As mentioned by pratik even the bullion markets are not to be under estimated

Now how to attract the newly rich.. by tax rate of 1 % and huge shopping festivals and carnivals.. even in the long run .. it would still work.
