Do you feel that the punishment for driving while under the influence is too harsh, not harsh enough, or sufficient for the crime? (Substances range from alcohol to marijuana to over the counter drugs which may cause impairment)

I think too many DUI criminals get away with their crimes for way too long. These people put so many at risk and yet they too often get chance after chance. Many times, they end up killing some innocent person.

The task of a driver on the road is very tough. Maintaining presence of mind is very important and many decisions is to be taken in a split of a second. A driver who is drunk cannot perform these tasks and would endanger traffic safety . A druken driver lacks the following things...

Alertness in perceiving a danger in the road and reacting to it quickly.
Accuracy of vision.
A broad range of vision to take note of events taking place on either side of the road without turning head in either direction.
Ability to perceive distance between two moving objects and their relative position in space.
Capacity to distinguish accurately between three traffic light colours e.g. green, amber and red.
Ability to drive the vehicle safely during night hours.
Ability to recover the glare effect quickly.

So, it is also advised.. Dont drink and drive..

The drunk driver should be punished very harshly as a very small mistake of a drunk driver risks the precious life of innocent people

I think penalty should be harsher. However, I am not sure how harsh should the penalty be. If drunk driver feel that chances of getting caught is low, then harsher penalty may not be enough.

Punishment given to drunker s who are driving & putting life of so many people at risks..the punishment should be non bailable & a compulsory imprisonment of 2 years..(depending on the case)
