Does recession affect talent ?

companies prefer recruiting employees who are good enough and who accept a lower CTC therefore genrally recession effects talent..... this statement is true

when you pay peanuts, you will get monkeys is a nice quote. companies should be smart in making choices and pay for the best talent to retain them..

Disillusionment would def exist and this might defer plans of many good guys...

I think yes.
it depends on lot of factors like talent maturity, socio-economic condition and available alternatives.
We should accept that talent needs to be nurtured and right environment does not exist, few of talent might get wasted. Yes of course not all.

Thanks

but certainly my call on this would be to acquire as much talent as possible mainly cos of two reasons .....
1. cheap labour
2. they pump in new ideas which may certainly improve the situation from here rather than getting worse

and this is again a major area where you plan out for major cost saving in future .... as in you getting the best of talent at half the cost ......

Recession can never hamper talent.Only thing it can only give limited scope. With talent any one can be a freelance .

Its true tht recession in India is just a psychological effect, but the conditions will be tend to become worse for us if this thing continues on for long.
Management Students should now start opting for entrepreneurship as the NEXT BEST OPTION as things are pretty damn clear that this phase is to last for some more time atleast, and for the economy to recover it will take another year or so..

Guys should read "STAY HUNGRY STAY FOOLISH" and get inspired...
