In my country (Philippines), the name of the school matters, regardless if it be online or classroom-based. If you graduated from the top Universities from the Greater Manila Area (Capital of the Country), then you immediately get prioritized for job interviews. Some even get hired right away. So sad, because these schools cost a lot.
MBA is just another training. It depends on the person how he utilises those skills learned and improve upon them modify them to fit into the industry / situation . Reputed B school do make a difference in two ways- the brand image and with it the alumni link plus the same teachings are imparted with more insights and brain stimulating discussions of like minded people.
All said and done it is the person in U who makes the difference by your skill set improvisation, innovations etc
Lot of students these days do their MBA from abroad. But are they getting enough good opportunities once back in India? From a company's POV do they have a prefer these graduates and if yes why?
MBA from abroad brings a lot of experience and exposure. but i have heard of cases in which it has become a curse. like doing a 1yr program from abroad but cant find a job because the course was not acceptable for the employers..
i think that an mba from abroad does not really make a lot of difference....cause a lot of good b schools have come up in india in recent years....so it does not really matter....
MBA from foreign universities does make difference because globally u have better exposure specially for WORK EX people where u interact with only experienced people and mba from india in well reputed institute can give you exposure only...
Studying abroad at an international school gives you the chance to connect with professionals from all over the world. Plus, chances are your colleagues background experience will not be the exact same as you. To differentiate yourself with your MBA I would highly suggest getting an MBA abroad.
