The culture and art has changed dramatically in this digital age. Seems people are forgetting their own cultures in the web world.
I believe that maintaining your traditions, cultures and values has to do with each individual. Yes people are influenced by the web, etc but socializing does not mean you should forget your culture. If you are honestly true to your culture the western world should not influence you.
I am from an Indian background and don't know much about all the traditions and cultures of Hinduism, but I still try to follow what my ancestors taught me. I am more or less seen as a western person but I know my limits when it comes to culture and values.
