Do you think India needs a seprate Minister for internet ?

India is far behind the other developed countries in providing internet services to the masses. There is too much red tape from State governments when it comes to providing last time connectivity. Should India need a separate Minister for Internet for the growth of internet in our country.

Too many cooks spoil the broth, goes the old saying. Indian government is only that kind of a broth spoiled by so many cooks. An Internet Minister would do nothing except increasing the burden of expenditure and state treasury and tax payers.

What's the I & B ministry doing except issuing license to various T.V channels etc. Have you heard ever of it coming out with any concreter idea leave alone policies that can smoothen the process of information sharing among the people of the country.

Whatever little that comes... it flows from either Home Ministry or PMO. But, yes we can have a cyber department under the I&B ministry to take care of the whole business, issues and concerns of all the stakeholders of internet.

its good to have a separate minister for net as actually after the movie Paa i think different minister should be made as it would at least solve cases that can be fruitful from the increase in number of crimes to at least reduce some number of crimes
 
i also agree with you guys, but matter is this that if separate ministry for internet will start then we need to educated minister for that particular department and bad luck for India that we have very very less educated politician in our country and political parties also having pressure on department allocation after winning...... when group will see that their is profit of business in that particular department then the race will start again to fight for chair....
 
I don't think that India need a separate minster for internet. Ministry of Communications & Information Technology is capable to resolve all issue regrading internet.

hey i completely disagree to it...why would india need another corrupt minister..as it is there are lot many!!
 
Yes, India seriously lags in internet when compared to giants like US,UK...A minister can thus bring justice to cost/quality of service ratio...if he/she is a good minister that is.
 
There is no necessity to have a separate ministry for Internet. All that is needed is different laws that the Govern Internet.
