I think, much more than the part time in volunteering would be the betterment of society, what you need is the Change of Mindsets!!!
That's important, because to bring a whole revolution amongst our society, for everyone one to be treated equally...you need to focus the mindsets of the people....make them more friendly and open minded to the lower strata of the society.
This way, self realization occurs...and then you would need to keep a check or force them into part time or full time voluntarism...they'll be self motivated !!! and the amount of dedication and commitment put in would be great !!
