Do engineers really make good managers?

It completely depends on the personality of the manager. An engineer could have both analytical skills as well as people skills. But what i have seen is that people from technical background are good at resolving technical issues and less of interpersonal issues and concerns.
 
definitely yes, engineers do make good managers for no doubt .. the technical skills plus the managerial skills meke them capable to tackle any situation
 
hahah no they dont they are only good in technical aspects and not in administrative fields so they wont make a good manager
they are capable of doing things not getting things done by others !!
 
yes definitely engineers make good managers... as they are aware of the technical viabilities in the organisation and directly involved in process of the organisation they can be good managers.
 
in my opinion, it isnt right to generalize and state whether all engineers would make good managers or not. There might be a lot of engineers out there who are engineers because they love what they do, and its not just a job for them. And also, it doesnt necessarily mean someone who has studied managemnt would make a better manager than an engineer.
it all boils down to the aptitude and the attitude of every individual as to how he or she would respond to a situation.
 
I have always seen people who have placed more emphasis on abilities than attitudes struggle to get a good name with their team members. Though an engineering degree equips with sound technical knowhow and needless to say that your are intelligent for a manager it is the people skills that made you win at the end.

most of the engineer can't change their method in studying subjects,
They focus and investigate on technical parts, it is a time to increase conceptual ability
