what you think over this matter that our national game Hockey is not getting that much respect as it deserve
I think Hockey is a better game then Cricket . You know cricket is just playing by only 12 or 13 countries but Hockey is Playing oll over the coutry and Hockey team is ranked much better then out Cricket Team
beside this If u look at the history of both the teams then we can see that Hockey is much to say about its history. 1928 to 1956 India won 6 consecutive gold medals in the Olympics, scoring 178 goals in 24 Olympic matches, winning all of them and total 8 gold medals but in Cricket all we has is just 83's world cup . recently we won asia gols medal in hockey and nehru cup in football but all we are taking about is just the world cup of the silly 20 20 format giving all the attenction and money to them and nobody is bothering about Hockey and football'achivement

I feel there should not be any discrimination between players of different games.
All games should be treated at par, and appropriate measures must be taken to give all the games the same platform as cricket. A discrimination will lead to under-performance or non-performance by players of ignored games. This in-turn will create unrest among the various players of different games in the same country. All players represent our nation throughout the world, and neglecting a few may fetch a bad name for our country from other countries. So i request everyone to help create an awareness for the giving importance to all games in which our players participate throughout the world. Due and proper recognition should be given to everyone for their achievements, in our country, Asia or the World.

in india v r very much prone to change our loyalty often! not only towards the games but also towards individual players! 1 of the major reason cricket is so damm popular in india bcoz india has managed to win matches!!!!:SugarwareZ-064:
for eg.. when sania mirza manged to get into top 50 even comman ppl strted to love tennis..... when narian kartikeyan managed to land on the F1 circut ppl sarted watching it!!]da prob criket overshadows hockey is simple------ hockey team newer wins matches!!
but this time they manged playing exeptionnaly well, making other teams feel like paupers india has outdone itself!!! at this moment it was necessary to show gratitude toward these fellas for their hard work...... but u know criket is a big money game!! n lots of politics is also involved!! ( remember -NCP felecitation cerimony insted of the cricketers!!):bigsmile:

listen india has won 8 gold medals in hockey n recently they won gold medal in aisan hockey tornament.....compare to cricket its far better 2nd india has won many billiards world chapionship if im nt mistaking about 25 is it better than cricket..? coming to chess we have won 2 consicutive world titles.....where as in cricket we juz won 83 world cup...n this 20 20 cup....nw lets go to football we won nehru cup....for ur kind info india was qualified for 1966 FIFA world cup bt we diqualifide becaz at that time our players didnt have shoes to wear......still our govt praise cricket....n BCCI is nt at all govt body its private body.... wat other sportsman should do ......they also get same treatment as crickter getting in this country
 
Wo wo wo wo...... who says cricket players get due respect... hope u see some more of da "idoiot box"... they are nothin comapred to wht politicians and media persons are... and never would be...
as far as hockey is concerned... dere's an age ol' adage to it... "ghar ki murgi, daal barabar" so even if they win and come, its jus another victory... but if cricket men in blu win some damn trophy bcoz of politics jus so that viewership increases, is given more importance...

secondly hockey dosen't have many sponsorers who can contribute, even if they do.. those admins eat it up... as for cricket... its scrutinized these days as most ppl know how much money has changed hands... so they put in more money than you can ever think... so that they can feed their papi peet... (* dere are xceptions... - kabir khan is one... which is purely fictional :P)

this cricket had spoiled the other games......... we r the number one in chess but no one praises the person behind that.... there should be some reward for them otherwise why would they play??
 
ITS REALLY SMAME IN INDIA THAT WE DISCRIMINATE WITH OTHER SPORTS IN COMPARISON WITH CRICKET .IN PAST TWO MONTHS INDIAN SPORTS HAVE TOUCHED NEW HIGHT

I feel its not any kind of discrimination as such. the only point where Cricket is so loved in our country because of its Siplicity.in the sence of understanding , playing ( you just need is ont bat & a ball, irrespective of number of players if played LOCALLY.)and because its played locally cricket has become more popular as compared to hockey.
Same is the case with Foot ballall u need is just one ball, unlike hockey which requires hockey bats, your guards a clean levelled poen space etc..any now a days even people are watching football with equal interst as like Cricket rather than Hockey.
so i feel its just amatter of simplicity & coveniance.
 
actually its all because of corruption & political leaders. i don't understand why 78% of India's population likes cricket. hockey is also a nice game. it is waste of time watching cricket match.
 
seriously every1 wastes time watching cricket...they can watch many other games like tennis or even hockey....i dont watch cricket myself...i prefer tennis...but ya after SRK's chak de..ppl actually hav come to kno that hockey actually exists...its really bad situation fro hockey players in India..nobody takes much care abt them...tehy only think of cricket....its irritating...
 
its not tat govt send more on cricket and less on hockey.....
its d citizen of india tat mks a problem..
suppose its cricket match v watch but our enthu loose whn it comes to hockey....
due to d popurality, cricket gts more sponserers
