Summary:
The Director of Business Intelligence is responsible for the design and oversight of an enterprise-wide
data warehouse; the development, deployment, and adoption of business intelligence and reporting
tools; and the delivery of reporting and analytical solutions to key stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
? Develops, communicates, and executes a vision for meeting stakeholder's needs
? Develops and communicates goals, strategies, tactics, project plans, timelines, milestones,
and key performance metrics
? Develops and manages supporting and related business processes
? Communicates plans and progress with senior management on a regular basis
? Develops and manages the Business Intelligence Group's budget to ensure required
resources are available
? Oversees the expenditures related to services engagements that either enhance or extend the
technical development of the business intelligence architecture at the College
? Assists the college community by providing reliable, relevant, and quality data and information
to facilitate planning, budgeting, accountability, program evaluation and development of policy
decisions
? Keeps current with the direction of the business and the needs of internal customers
? Analyzes and prioritizes needs
? Develops, directs, coordinates and evaluates staff
? Establishes and maintains excellent inter-department communication so that roles,
requirements, dependencies, decision and work processes are clearly articulated and
understood.
? Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
? Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and
procedures
? Ability to address technical issues in both technical and non-technical terms based on the
audience being addressed
? Ability to manage and plan for large-scale technology change in a dynamic environment
? Ability to provide critically important reporting, assessment, benchmarking, planning and public
information services to support and respond to the needs of the College
? Ability to cultivate and maintain professional contacts with other higher education institutions
and professional organizations
? Ability to use 81 software tools for ETL, Cubes, and reports
? Ability to adapt to changing priorities
? Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
? Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and
staff

with an institutional emergency, employees in such positions may be required to remain at their work
location or to report to work to protect, recover, and continue operations at the College.
Minimum Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily.
? Master’s Degree in a related field and five (5) years of progressive experience in Information
Technology with an emphasis on Business Intelligence; or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
and nine (9) years of progressive experience in Information Technology with an emphasis on
Business Intelligence
