In India every year thousands of M.B.As and B.B.As students pass out but very few of them achieve the success. name and fame in corporate why this happen is this a fault of our education system or it is because everyone who do an M.B.A does not have skills of a manager i mean to say that most of them who fail to achieve heights of success is because they do M.B.A just for a degree and just do M.B.A in a more theoretical approach. Even there are very few faces from IIMs who are on top of corporate world.

What you think, what is the reason for few M.B.As in corporate with name and fame and rest do not achieve the heights of success?
and in your words
Difference between average and top class manager ?

I think the thing which more matter in corporate world is the skills of a manager because i think even a average student can do BBA or MBA the thing which matter is how much he learned from his course and how skillfully and efficiently he applies that in corporate world in real time marketing. I have seen many book worms and toppers when the result of exam comes they score very high percentages and when they were asked in class to apply a simple principle of management in class" UNITY OF COMMAND" in real time example they were not able to answer and the good thing happened when a guy who generally don't even makes notes given the example. So it shows that skills are the major difference between average and top manager. average manager follows the bookish knowledge but top class manager follows the practical approach and modifies the priciples of management according to need of his employer.

Learning is one of the most interesting apsect of human life. Two or more people can be in the same MBA class but perform differently in industry. The question of mastering the art comes in. It is not the fault of the B-School. The problem lies in the student's inability to apply what they have learnt.

avg.. manager is the one that takes curses from both his subordinate and his boss..

excellent manager is the one that takes appreciations from both.. it all depends on how they play

that's only due to difference in attitude.

Sucessful are those who thinks from organization point of view instead of individual departmental point.

Two rules make up a great manager
1. He always over communicates which fules his good human and interpersonal skills
2. He never forgets rule number 1.

the difference is not single factor but most of the case multi factors. A combination of dream, passion, attitude, skill, as well as luck.

a good manager has a practical approach to problem solving...
he also has the eye to identify a problem , when he sees one...

Average manage only think about the short-term profit and thus, they don't work according to the exact demand of the situation. Some of the "so called" managers don't have sufficient knowledge, skill etc. So,they become unable to think beyond the situation.
On the other hand, world class leaders cum managers think differently, work effectively and efficiently, plan with their vision and with their positive assets, they ultimately win.
All depends upon attitude.
According to our teachers an MBA can be
MBA= (With) Mind Blowing Attitude or
MBA= Maha bekaar Aadmi!

A top class managers have the 1st type of asset with beautiful skill-set.

I would add high level of communication skills, influence and ability to sustain processes. Porras and Collins studied this characteristics in the Built to Last research.

i think avg manager is one who just applies the knowledge gained in MBA course or the books he has read
but a good manager is one who thinks innovative and then applies his knowledge to the solution.

First of all,I would like to clarify that MBA has no role to play in making a Avg Manager or Above Avg Manager. Its the skill-set that one possess that is going to diff b/w them.Avg manager does only what he is supposed to do but the above avg manager does things that are beyond other persons can imagine. The clever manager applied innovation to his work and does the job brilliantly.
