Anna University, BIT Campus, Tiruchirappalli,
has been established by the Government of Tamil
Nadu as a ‘Technical Institution’ at Tiruchirappalli
– known as Rock Fort city, with rich cultural
heritage and home to many reputed educational
institutions. The BIT institution is one of the
constituent colleges of Anna University, Chennai.
The institution is established with a view to impart
quality student cantered technical education, so as
to produce proven technocrats and to strive hard for
continuous development and improvement in
learning, research and developmental activities.
Teaching, research and extension services are
carried through the Departments and Centers of the
Institution. The Institution also works towards
fostering partnerships with academic and industrial
experts to provide quality education and
opportunities for entrepreneurial development by
providing hands-on training. BIT has carved a
niche for itself in providing technical education in
the disciplines that are rare of their kind in our
country. Aiming at excellence, the Institution offers
research programmes in different branches of study
besides offering UG & PG programmes in various
disciplines.
Department of CSE/IT
The Department of CSE & IT offers full time
B.E (CSE), B.Tech (IT), M.E (CSE), M.E (SE) and
M.E (MPC) courses. The Department has dedicated
and qualified faculty besides good infrastructure
for computing. Research at this Department is
nurtured through various sponsored programmes
funded by national organizations such as AICTE,
UGC and Ministry of Communications and
Information Technology.
About the Workshop
Business intelligence (BI) is a technology for
converting the raw business data into meaningful
information in order to identify business
requirements and solve the business problems
using a set of tools and techniques. The BI plays a
vital role in the business environment for
increasing the profitability and reducing the scrap.
The data warehouses are broadly used in the large
and complex business industries for keeping the
business data to make decisions by the BI
technology. Understanding the BI technology is
essential among the students and research
community to equip them and apply their ideas to
make competent decisions and bring the
remarkable business solutions with the recent
technologies and software tools.
The main objective of this workshop is to
enhance the employability skills of the students to
obtain the employment in esteemed database
technology-based industries and to motivate the
researchers by providing the new direction in the
research area of business intelligence.
