We should try and separate politics and commerce as much as possible, to keep elections from being "bought and sold" like any other commodity. A corporation is not a person and so it should not be allowed to influence elections. What do you say to that?

In most states the Commission is known as the Public Service Commission or the Public Utility Commission. Our Commission, however, has responsibilities that go beyond traditional public utilities regulation. This debate will cover all services under the jurisdiction of the Commission - Utilities Regulation, Corporations and Securities Oversight, and Railroad and Pipeline Safety:
The Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC):

Regulates utilities impacting rates, availability, and quality of telecommunications, water, electric and gas services

Monitors the integrity of Arizona businesses and organizations including granting corporate status for businesses and organizations and maintaining public records. They also ensure the integrity of the securities marketplace protecting buyers and sellers of stocks, bonds and other securities from investment scams and fraud

Insures public safety of railroads and the pipelines that move gas and oil across the state
