College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry came into existence in the year 2009 and the college is located in the northern side of the National highway at a distance of about eight kilometers from the capital city of Agartala and about three kilometers from Khayerpur. The college is provisionally affiliated to the Tripura University, which is a central university.

Course Details:

College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry offers Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry through the following departments functioning under its control:

• Department of Veterinary Parasitology

• Department of Veterinary Pathology

• Department of Veterinary Microbiology

• Department of Veterinary Anatomy

• Department of Livestock Production & Management

• Department of Veterinary Physiology & Biochemistry

• Department of Animal Nutrition

• Department of Animal Genetics & Breeding

Eligibility criteria for admission:

The following eligibility requirements are to be fulfilled by the students to seek admission to the College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry:

• Candidates must have completed 17 years of age before the 31st of December in which he/she is seeking admission to the 1st year of B.V. Sc and A.H. Course

• The qualifying examination should have been completed by the candidates according to the regulations of Veterinary Council of India, which is higher secondary course with English, biology, chemistry and physics subjects obtaining not less than 50% of aggregate marks

• In the case of SC/ST candidates, they must have secured 40% of marks in the qualifying examination

• Sponsored candidates must qualify the admission procedure as prescribed for UR category
 
College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry began its operations in a temporary building at R.K. Nagar Farm Complex. The new building for the college is being constructed and it will have common facilities, academic block of different departments functioning in the college and administrative block according to the guidelines issued by the Veterinary Council of India. In addition to these facilities, clinical complex is also planned to be created in the new campus of the college.
