The CIPET conducts an annual joint entrance examination for admission of candidates who aspire to pursue Plastic engineering careers, after qualifying for a post graduate course namely M.Tech and PG Diploma (in CIPET).The CIPET offers the following disciplines for the courses mentioned above:

Structure and Syllabus CIPET M Tech/PGD PPT Test
The CIPET JEE for the aforementioned course takes place in two parts – A preliminary Exam and the Main Exam. The Preliminary Exam is of 3 hours duration which consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) from
Physics
Chemistry
Mathematics
The main exam will be 2 hours long with more advanced questions from the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
The syllabus for the CIPET M.Tech/PGD PPT JEE will be from the syllabus of higher secondary classes and Bachelor’s degree standards, for each subject of PCM. There will also be general knowledge questions for the exam among a total of 100 questions.
Eligibility Criteria
For M.Tech (Plastic Engineering/Technology)
The candidate should have a 4 year Bachelor’s degree (BE/B.Tech/B.Sc) in Tool Tool Tool/Mechanical/ Production/Polymer/ Chemical Engineering or a Master’s degree in Polymer Science or Chemistry and specialized in polymers to be eligible.
For M.Tech (Nanotechnology)
The candidates should have a BE/B.Tech degree in Plastics Engineering or Polymer or Technology Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. The aspirants of Master’s degree in Chemistry or Polymer Chemistry or Polymer Science or Physics to be eligible for the CIPET JEE for M.Tech/PGD PPT.
For M.Tech (CAD/CAM/CAE)
To be eligible to apply for this course, the candidate should be a graduate of 4 year long Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Plastics or in Tool Engineering. The graduates of Aeronautics or Polymer Technology or Automobile or Macaronis or Production are also eligible.
For Postgraduate Diploma in Plastics processing and Testing (PGD-PPT)
To be eligible for this course, the candidates should have Bachelor’s degree in Science (with Chemistry as one of the subjects).
Besides these criteria, the CIPET JEE has an age limit. For M.Tech courses, the age limit is 35 years and for the PGD PPT is 24 years. Candidates awaiting results for the degrees mentioned above may also apply.
How to Apply?
The application forms and instruction booklets with useful guide lines will be available in all CIPET centers. The applicants may purchase it in person or by post. Those applicants opting postal delivery should send a request letter for receiving the application form via post to the concerned authorities along with an authority favorable demand draft of Rs 400/-.After receiving it, the applicants need to fill up form and send it enclosed in a self addressed envelope with their registration number on it along with a demand draft with their signature on its back side. Rs 100\- is charged for the application fee for general candidates and it would cost Rs.25\- for SC / ST candidates.
How to fill the Form?
This is something not to be considered lightly. Filling an application form should not be taken lightly. It should be done carefully by taking a lot of time if necessary. Before starting to fill up the form, the candidates are recommended to go through all guidelines in the instruction booklet or Prospectus they receive along with the application form. The candidates should not correct their mistakes by crossing them out or writing over them but rather use a whitener instead.
The form should be folded neatly and that too only if necessary. Once submitted, requests for making changes in the form will not be entertained under any circumstances. The CIPET recommends applicants to use ball point pens of black ink or gel pens of the same. The address and other text entries should be precise, valid and should be neatly entered.
