China vs India

Hi everybody,

it is said over here (I am an expat in China) that India can't compete zith China for producing hard goods (bicycles, households appliances, etc...) because of infrastructures problems.
Do you have the same thoughts about it?

I do believe that China has taken a huge lead over India on many facets - Infrastructure, FDI, Human Development Index and lower levels of corruption etc. India's biggest advantage is Democracy and to compete with China, we would need to decisively use this advantage with great focus and speed to achieve clearly defined goals. Most developed nations would prefer investing in India compared to China if we can achieve transaparency, speed and consistency in our processes. A large english speaking populations also gives India a substantial edge over China but it depends on our Govt and us to use this to our advantage.

Why always vs? Why not compete according to the needs of the people. Why this counttry better or that country beter. Is India performing to the needs of the people. Some countries need infrustructure more than other may need education. Why compete. Provide what citizens require.

Being the largest country in term of English speaking nation is a great advantage but must be capable to produce products for those who demand English.

we are the largest democracy hence in long run we will sustain. However i agree that china is way ahead as of now.

I agree that China is in a better position as compared to India in various aspects like Economic growth, lower level of corruption due to high ethics , capacity to manufacture hardware, military grounds,nuclear energy etc and hence their economic base is much stronger than India. But if Indians work sincerely for a few upcoming we will be able to catch up with them by using our certain advantages such as English speaking power , world's largest democracy etc
