CG to supply 765 kV single phase auto transformers and reactors

Mumbai: Crompton Greaves, Avantha Group Company, has bagged three contracts from Power Grid Corporation of India for supply of 765 kV single phase auto transformers and reactors. “UHV is a key segment for CG and CG remains committed to deliver high quality, cost effective products and services to fuel the economic growth of the country,” states Avantha Group Company CG’s CEO & Managing Director, Laurent Demortier.

As per the contract, Crompton Greaves will supply seven 500 MVA single phase 765 kV auto transformers and around 38 80 MVAR and 110 MVAR single phase 765 kV reactors for Power Grid’s Thiruvelum, Kurnool, Raipur and Wardha substations.

The Rs231.7 crore (€35 million) contract involves design, manufacturing, factory testing, dispatch, erection, site testing, commissioning and related civil construction, at various locations in India. “I am very proud and thankful to PGCIL for continuing to repose trust in our products and technological expertise,” adds Demortier.

The products will be manufactured at the company’s unit in Bhopal. The projects are expected to be completed within 31 months.
