According to a survey conducted by the QAI with over 3500 software professionals, over 90 percent respondents were of the opinion that certifications are a value add to their careers, helps gain recognition amongst peers and boosts confidence and self esteem. And, more than half of the respondents constituting 54 percent said certifications helped them get a better job and 38 percent in a salary increment.

Do you really believe.. certifications help you to get the job ???
 
May be..but certifications will certainly help u get introduced to a company and give u a chance to appear for an interview for a specific designation but that may not help u get a better job. Practical experience is very much important besides these certificates. This is because there is huge gap between class room training and practical world. getting a certificate is an added benefit. A clear example is that of the administrators, IAS, top management guys that are really good. their knowledge on the subject may not be high. but they can pickup, collate information and come up with a good working scheme.
 
Yes, it definitely helps. Moreover it depends on your profile and type of certification. For eg. In Java jobs, SCJP is of great help
 
Certifications are always an added advantage & helpful to anyone for a better job opportunity but along with it experience is a must ...
 
No doubt certificates provides weight-age 2 one's resume....agree its instrumental in landing a person in a better chair....but if u ask me in a lkong run ..is it required...i ll so ...not exactly......certificates is one thing and knowledge is another......a person who grasps knowledge adequately can survive...and even excel without d certification of his qualification ..!!

nope if u have the capability certificates wont stop u to get ur goals..
 
I definitely agree that certificates gives a candidate a better prospects in getting an interview call and companies also look for candidates with certificates.Certificates tells us that candidate has some basic knowledge about a particular technology or Domain and this is exactly what the companies are looking for.Certifications always gives an edge over the competition for the candidates.
