I agree with Melroy if people like then finally its media responsibility to give it to them... so how can we hold them responsibile.. finally people nowdays look at only three things entertainment entertainment and entertainment....
I agree with the "three things" people look forward to these days.
However, as a business students (and people relating to management) we should look things from the business perspective and celebrity culture is good for business!
Many times the people know what is right and what is wrong. Still they go for the wrong! Here're a few examples:
Educated youth go for drug abuse, drinking, smoking right from their teens.
People know that they shouldn't eat chocolates & junk foods much. Fat people know that it's time for exercise and dieting.
The divorce rate is higher in the developed nations where people know that the divorce will have serious impact over their children.
Almost everyone knows that "prostitution" isn't good from moral perspective but this kind of institutions are always flourishing which isn't possible without good backup of customers.
The educated folks pronounce "Cetamol" just for a minor "Fever" which might otherwise ease away itself or turn out to be the symptom of a more dangerous disease. That would help in diagnosis later.
So, there's nothing to be nonsense. People seek instant gratification. And that's all, don't care much for the long term. So, why should we worry too much about them?
