Hi guys , my name is roht, i have been given a case study to solve.
So if u all can also help me out , it would b gr8.....
heres d case;
General insurance co.
The new general manager of a private general insurance co. Was asked to review the old administrative practices and thus to introduce utmost economy, efficiency, and discipline in the organisation. it was reported that the old general manager who retired at the age of 60, could not enforce discipline for one reason or the other.
The new general manager found that the employees were taking undue advantage of the liberal practices followed by the old general manager. They used to be irregular in attendance. They remained absent without prior permission of their immediate bosses. They use too waste much of their time while on duty also. They used to sit for overtime work and claim over time work and over time allowance. There were no strict norms laid down for the overtime work and the over time payment. The head clerks concerned of the respective departments, who were old and experienced employees, wanted to enforce discipline. But the employees used to ignore them, since they knew that the general manager would always adopt a soft side while giving treatment to employees.
