True, the online shopping may not replace the actual, physical shop-hopping - or rather, the experience of it, however this will pick steam soon - the roadblocks for this, at present are:
1. Unavailability of a reliable and yes, a fast one too, internet connection at every place.
2. Online data and information security.
3. Lack of laws protecting consumer - not just the cyber laws, but others like, consume-protection laws too. Not only the consumer protecting laws are weak, but are also difficult to be used - especially in the light of lack of awareness - and the companies add their own conditions too e.g. think about how a consumer, say from North-east feel when he/she reads that in case of any dispute the matter would come under the jurisdictions of Delhi courts only
4. Lack of reliable, faster courier service providers in all areas of India (especially the rural ones) - thus increasing the delivery-time.
5.Our own culture too comes in the way - we've not reached to that level of honesty/faith etc - even in the business - most of the time we don't consider even our local shopkeeper to be enough honest / reliable - how can somebody 2,000km away could be, especially considering the generally perception of greedy-businessmen!
