Can salary be major factor for employee Satisfaction?

salary is an imp parameter but nt the only parameter for an employee motivtaion..it does play an imp role but an employee also looks for what is there for him/her to grow n prosper in the organisation he/she is working..

salary is not alone a factor for satisfaction.even if v r provided high salary v can do a job which yield us no satisfaction.if u r interested in ur job v would like to work for even less salary.this gives us more satisfaction

yes.. its a major factor in an employees career. if you look at the maslow's hiererchial needs, the basic needs of employee like salary should be taken care of.

I think money is at the top of the list for satisfaction. And, actually, I also feel Money drives the meaning of satisfaction for many people too......

Salary will be not major factor for job satisfaction!!!! For me apart from money a person enjoy its job to the fullesr extend if an employee enjoy its job he will give ts 100% and vice versa....factors like infrastruture, culture and enivornment of the ompany also layss a major role

it depends on what age band you come under................for a fresher.....huge salary would be good enough............this might not be same for an individual looking for self actualization

Its Ok. Infact Salary is th ultimate thing. U can giv best of environments n motivation at workplace but wht about Money that u n ur family requires.

Its only besides Salary, wht extra u r giving, n wht kind of culture prevails in the Orgn.

No only salary cannot be a factor for statisfaction. Employee should be given good working condition, proper understanding to him, exloring his ideas and give reward for that.

this is a very important dertiminant of satisfaction but i do not think too many people will reveal such sensitive information due to organizational and personal reasons.

hi all,

I guess its not true as job satisfaction is all must
eg an employee who has a very good pay package but at the end of the day he does not gel up with his seniors or employee its difficult to work, what matter is at th end of the day u should be happy in what u doing

Salary as an motivation holds largely true for ppl in d age group of below 30.. post which Status, Working environment, reputation and above all job security is crucial.. Also needs are different for diff genders ost marriage..

well not necessarily money is not everthing n this appliesa to jobs too even though ppl work to earn money even if u pay a ransom amount n treat him like a dog or pressure u r employees i dont think it works for a long time employee satisfaction also depends majorly on the working environment

hey it depends on situations and more on person. with change in time now people want a good environment in the organization. If u provide someone with all the facilities, then he will be satisfied. If you appraise him for the work he has done than he will be satisfied. Moreover now young generation wants career growth.
But on the other hand there are people who are working only for money. They need to pay their loans, they have some personal problems, etc. So, in that case, compensation is very important.

Salary is not the fore most thing of Employee satisfaction --but still it can't be completely out of the equation. All other motivation, self respect, accountability will hold good if only the salary quotient is taken care of properly...

Hi Sonali,

It actually a good idea to have question related to salary in ESS.Salary is a mojor resason why most of the employees leave organization and it is good to capture that in ESS and improve on the same.

Hello All,

I am doing summer project for ESS. I have included questions related to salary in the survey que.
Is it ok to include such que. in survey?

Thanks,

Sonali
