Can salary be major factor for employee Satisfaction?

Salary is an important factor for employee motivation but apart from it we can overlook other factor viz career growth, job satisfaction, overseas opportunity.

i agree salary plays an imp role we may deny that i need good wrk to do recognition and good wrk environment and all but the truth is at the end of the day it comes down to money u get fame and everything but not enough money for ur wrk u will be surely displeased

"Money is not god but it is also not less than it also in todays world"

for initial satisfaction it is the primary requirement but for a day-to-day on work satisfaction the environment and how people there treat you is muchmore important than salary ...the respect you get due to working in a company with a good brand name is much more than working in an unknown company with good salary...as we all are hungry of status

Salary very much determines the employee's satisfaction in an organization..But people gradually started giving due importance for their career growth in the organizatio

Its Ok. Infact Salary is th ultimate thing. U can giv best of environments n motivation at workplace but wht about Money that u n ur family requires.

well if the staff ur working with is alright and they help u out , and ur job is interesting and useful then a average sallary is ok

Hey,

I guess its fine to ask such a question, however its upon the employees perspective as to how important salary is to him. I believe these days people are looking forward for good job profiles rather than salary ONLY

Yes, money is the most important factor in context with job satisfaction; but sometimes, one has to compromise with it in short term to gain better dividends in the future.

For instance, "Genpact" is a leading BPO, but what they pay is quite low as compared to other organizations. People still go for Genpact because it has a brand image. If one works at Genpact for a year and then wishes to switch to other organization having similar operations, then it is most likely to happen that the subject may get a better pay-package and even a promoted position.

There is no such thing as a free lunch. Just an experience.

well in todays world due to recession...you cant be so choosy...so i feel that watever salary u get u shd go on with it for some months or maybe a year...and then u can demand the salary what u want after when everythings alright !

Is it ok to include such que. in survey?

Thanks,
