Can salary be major factor for employee Satisfaction?

it is one of the major factors of employee satisfaction, status, recognition, reward and other forms of motivation could be useful, but then they come to monetary gains. i feel monetary component is the most imp of all for employee to feel satisfied
 
No doubt salary is not the only factor for satisfaction...
But it is an important factor... There are few ppl who work they like to...
Many work to earn... and when ppl are paid higher they tend to work with more of enthusiasm..
But apart from Money...it is the environment at work place, the ppl working along also includes in satisfaction
 
salary surely did play a vital role for job satisfaction initially.but nowadays majority of companies do provide a satisfactory salaries to its employees hence in order to gain a competitve edge over the other companies it is necessary that it provides other facotrs like career development programs etc in order to keep the employee satisfied
 
Hi all,

I would like to share my own experience in this.
I ve conducted the Employee Satisfaction Survey in one of TATA s co. if required i can give provide with the questionnaire also.
i found money as a major factor affecting satisfaction. it is in line with the Maslow's theory.
apart from salary there are some other factors also. like Clarity with ur job profile in terms of KTA or KRA, Organization culture, Employee engagement, Work Environment, Individual Growth & Development etc..

i agree that Salary, recognition and career growth are what people look at, but lookin at the current scenario where employee has to handle huge stress, Work Family balance is also being lookd at rather than just hefty pay packages.
 
I think...Yes it's ok to ask such questions
However i think all employees need more than compensation to feel satisfied.
These days people fcous more on Job Profile and opportunities for growth within an organisation.
However compensation also plays an important part in determining their satisfaction levels.

ya it is but see for employee satis faction now a days companies are following the somany parameters to retain the talented employees except money they want recognistion also a sense of belonginess that they are somthing

Employees required more more care from the EMployer. and
Staffwelfare and HR activities makes the big difference and it improves the moral of Employee.
 
Hello Friends,
It has been seen in the past that the salary factor has tremendously acted as a magnet for managers.....but as far as my opinion is concerned they shld look at other options as well.....eg if two jobs r available JOB A & JOB B. Suppose JOB A pays well but the profile aint good as well as there is not much knowledge upgradation, no skills acquired.....& then there is JOB B which pays less but the profile is gud, u get to learn new things, which will help u in future if u wanna have ur own business, etc then def JOB B would be my sole choice....because i'm futuristic...i dont mind struggling at present if m future is bright!!!!
