Can MBAs guarantee you get the big bucks?

By no stretch of the imgination is it necessary. It only depends on the institution that you study from!

okies so finally no matter how much percentile we get of how much we achieve being in any damn college getting an MBA degree from a reputed college is a must today !!

Depends a lot on the school and what you are willing to do. For some people, it's not all about the big bucks. I work a non-profit and may do that after I graduate, but then again maybe not. What I really want is "mobility" and a good MBA offers that.

I think your skills will guarantee you more money than an MBA especially in North America, where the job market is declining everyday.

I personally dont feel so ....
i agree it does give u a 'platform' ... of getting placed with more than your MBA fees ....
bt ... "guarantee for sure" .... is still a million dollar ques ..!!!

MBA is not a guarantee for big bucks. A degree is no more than a piece of paper, you need to prove you mettle to rake in the 'moolah'. An MBA can hold the door open for you, stepping in and making the most of the opportunity, is entirely up to you.

FOR over 100 years the MBA has ruled the roost in top-tier executive education, but a survey by the Graduate Management Admission Council's last week showed that almost 70 per cent of schools worldwide have seen applications fall over the past year.

"A decade ago you could come out of a good programme and get a six-figure salary when you finished," says Rowan Manahan, managing director of Fortify Services, the career management firm. "But things are different now. Top jobs like that are still around, they are few and far between, so don't jump into an MBA without thinking."

what do u think?

nah.. it is wASTE OF MONEY

I do not think so but yeah MBA can be more helpful to professionals who need to extend their abilities as they progress in companies: engineers, scientists, or individuals stepping into management; even doctors could take advantage if they are entering into a significant training or in a health management role.
