Call Center Jobs: Sweet Poison or Bitter Tonic for Indian Youths ???

ts the way how our economy will grow. No call centres => no burgeoning growth of indian economy. Coming to youths, there also they get good salary in that job. Add to that poor higher education facilities provided by indian govt. (which obviously not gonna improve ) call centre is the way to go. Get utmost from the current situation.

Hi all,

At first .... it will be a sweet but i guess like tonic ....

and later it will be bitter and i guess that would be for Poison ...

Im sorry that i changed .... but i worked in Call centers for 3 years .... and at the start.. i was pretty happy as i got a pretty decent salary ... later it is all gone in my hospital bills ....... so it is not gud .... and at the same time not bad .... for people who are in dire need of money ....

Its ok to the part of the population who is educated but not employed so from the financial point of view, it is a bitter tonic for the people who have decided to make their career in call centre itself is a sweet poison for them.

for me call centre is a nice way to get employed and earn handsomely....it is not a sweet poison but one shud be very careful choose the right kind of job out there

I Accept the BPOs providng opportunities to youth and help in growth of Indian economy. Now people started facing Health related problems because of BPO jobs.
And also We are losing our Cultural and one of the reason is BPOs

For a time being....however its not a complete solution...what about 4 or 5 years when u dont get promoted...then what u'll do as a graduated...u dont have any master degree...which company would hire u as a graduated.....

Working in call centers has always fascinated the GenNxt of India because of some handsome salary and so called cool working environment but let me tell me u smthin my frnds this comes with Some serious repercussion. Some of them can lead u to severe trauma n diseases like for ex...back pain..insomnia..severe headache..dark circles..neck pain..obesity...etc...so in my opinion working in call centers is not at all a value addition to anyone's profile unless he is working on a managerial level....

well its a mixture of both cos its good and bad also bpo has its own advantages and disadvantages so i wud rather be neutral instead of jumping into conclusions

Call centre and bpo sector has giving so many employment opportunities nowdays to the youth and contributes well to India's GDP.........

So whtz ur views frnds, on the topic,

Call Center Jobs: Sweet Poison or Bitter Tonic for Indian Youths ???

Discuss !!!

The call center revolution has hit indian markets like a bulldozer which gives you flat out good pays but the young don't realize that it a short term mirage which will soon disappear and later they would be stranded and not know what to do further..
Although some would say that they need it to fulfill their financial crises in their families, but this isn't the solution any day...
Education is a must and parents should stress on education rather they push their children to work.. After they start working, when they earn lots of money and are financially sound, they will not look back to study again...cause money clouds their minds...

Call center spoil the mind of yongsters. Getting the 10000-25000 looks great pay at small age. But after having family resposiblities this is a small amount.

Neither of these two. It is another career option where one can join, excel and lead - or - join, be average and pass life in another job - or - join, be at lower end and crib for whole life.
Most of the times people - politicians included, denounce BPO job because these make one to work at night - but why don't they complain similarly about policemen, doctors & nurses, pilots, drivers...and other traditional jobs where working at night was required?
This is service sector guys, you have to work in the shifts of the customers - not of your own.
There could be sporadic studies too about x% increase in health and lifestyle diseases - but don't you think they this thing would have happened in case of any other while-collar, sedentary job too?
Most of people complain about BPO guys because they themselves are looser and/or can't see somebody who was a non-traditional-top-rated-skills person (i.e.no doc/eng/lawer etc) excelling wonderfully in life.
