In the institute’s endeavor of nurturing complete and true managers, SIMSR has formed an in-house ‘Consultancy Committee’, known as Consultancy @ SIMSR (C@S).

The cell is backed by industry experienced faculty members. The faculty guides the student body to conduct primary research and collect field data for market research. The cell members along with the faculty have previously undertaken projects in a variety of areas like Marketing, Finance, Operations and Human Resource. These include different sectors like Education, Art, FMCG, Retail, Financial Markets and Entertainment. All the projects undertaken have been supported by detailed sector analysis and Market Research.

The group aims at providing high quality end-to-end consultancy services in a wide range of areas to meet the needs of different small and medium scale enterprises in a cost-effective fashion. Drawing on the extensive expertise of its high quality faculty and rich pool of students with diverse academic skills and professional experience and support services, it helps students to learn from difficult business situations and develop out-of-thebox thinking.

At Consultancy @ SIMSR, we have supported companies across a wide spectrum of projects such as new product launch, entry into a market, fundamental analysis, financial modelling, business development, etc. All the projects that we undertake are supported by detailed sector analysis and market/ financial research. In addition, we also provide services to cater to company specific requirements.

THE CONSULTANTS
Members of the Consultancy committee are carefully picked from the student pool at SIMSR based on the diversity of their skill set, work experience, demonstrated excellence and motivation. This allows C@S to undertake a plethora of projects in accordance with the diversity of its team members. FACULTY SUPERVISOR
Prof ( Dr ) Monica Khanna is a Professor of Marketing and PGDM programme. She has over 15 years of teaching experience at K.J. Somaiya Institute, IIFT and IIT Bombay Shailesh J Mehta School of Management and 4 years of industry experience in Siemens Ltd. Dr Khanna has been the recipient of many awards including the "Women Super Achievers Award " at the 18th Dewang Mehta Business School Awards in 2010, “ Best Teacher of Management ” by the Bombay Management Association for the academic year 2006-07.

Five students have a cumulative corporate work experience of more than 3 years and have worked in leading organizations like Capgemini, Reliance, IBM, Carrier HVAC and Tata Consultancy Services. Other organizations in which our team members have worked include J P Morgan chase, Crisil, Axis Bank, Infosys and McKinsey Knowledge Center. The current batch is a highly diverse pool with a mix of professionals who have worked in varied sectors like Banking, Consulting, Media, Infrastructure, Telecom and Information Technology. The students had work profiles which included Financial consultant, SAP Functional consultant, Associate consultant and Research Analyst. Students have interned with leading companies like Ogilvy & Mather, Jet Airways, Reliance Telecommunications.

PROPOSAL PHASE

• Project Evaluation • Feasibility Study • Break up projects into different modules • List of module-wise timelines, cost breakup & team members responsible • Sending proposal to the client

POST APPROVAL

• Receive project initiation certificate from client • Team starts work on their respective modules • PM team keeps track of progress and communicates progress to client • PM teams checks the quality of the deliverables and sends it to the client • Project Completion and signoff & acceptance of completion certificate
