Position Title: Business Intelligence Data Analyst
Reports To: Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse Manager
Location: Denver, CO
Connect for Health Colorado is a new health insurance marketplace and support network that
will allow individuals, families and small employers to compare and purchase health plans from
companies including the major providers across the state in a convenient way. We will provide
high?quality customer assistance by phone and in person, as well as access to new financial
assistance to reduce costs. Our mission is to increase access, affordability, and choice for
individuals and small employers purchasing health insurance in Colorado.

Position Summary: Analyze business data to assist leadership in improving operational results,
user experience and organizational effectiveness. Consult with internal and external
stakeholders at all levels and roles to meet their information needs. Develop deep
understanding of customers, business operations, opportunities and challenges to develop
reports, metrics and analyses that lead to measureable improvements. Collaborate with
external analyses as required for advanced analyses and predictive modeling.
Position Responsibilities:
? Consult with and support business leaders and analysts in meeting their information
needs through the use of Cognos
? Develop operational and strategic reports using Cognos 10, including summaries, drill?
downs, filters and groupings
? Develop and maintain Cognos semantic layer
? Administer Cognos licenses, licensee needs, security controls and inventory of reports
? Define and/or enhance data structures of the Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence
environment, including 3NF, star schema and data arrays
? Become proficient and provide user support in reporting tools that accompany COTS
applications including Healthation, Oracle CX (RightNow) and Customer Interaction
Center (ACD/telephone system)
? Prepare data exports for regulators and external data analysts
? Ensure compliance with data?management policies and procedures, including
information security, data distribution and retention/destruction

Position Requirements:
? Undergraduate degree (graduate preferred) and/or recognized certificate in business
intelligence, statistical analysis, operations research or related field or equivalent years
of experience.
? Strong track record of applying analytics to improve business results
? Ability to create effective presentations and informal briefings that explain highly
technical analyses in business terms to diverse audiences such as senior executives,
data?savvy business analysts, technical analysts and lay (public) audiences
? Ability to develop reports in Cognos 10 and administer its technical environment
? Proficiency in spatial analyses and integration of spatial tools and displays with Cognos
? Familiarity with health care and/or insurance industries desired

Work Environment:
? Typical office setting; the Connect for Health Colorado office is in the Cherry Creek area
of Denver, near the intersection of Colorado Blvd. and Cherry Creek Drive North.
? Work schedule will include some non?traditional hours, weekends and evening events.
? Travel throughout Colorado will occasionally be required, mostly day trips along the
Front Range (mileage reimbursement available).
