Biotechnology has transformed many parts of the chemical industry, agriculture and medicine. The consumption of biotech products in India was expected to quadruple within a decade. The human and animal segment of the industry alone was growing by at least 20%. From 2009, Indian Biotech Industry contributes to 3.5% of the global biotech industry.
