To keep that position, the company
implemented Microsoft®Dynamics™
AX ERP platform. “We had just
replaced and upgraded our
servers and network,” says CFO
David McKeown. “We were happy
with the speed and fexible
database management capabilities
that Dynamics AX provided, but it
was still a challenge for our
managers to quickly and easily get
the information they needed.
“At a local Halo Business
Intelligence User Group meeting,”
McKeown says, “I met other
people who were using Halo BI.
They confrmed that Halo could
provide everything we needed at
a price we could aford.
“Afterward, in a Proof of Concept
exercise, we did a quick dump of
our Dynamics AX database to a CD
and sent it over to the team at Halo
BI. In only days, they were able to
show us the power of Halo BI with
our own data. We could query the
database, change parameters, drill
down, consolidate data, and
generate reports. I quickly saw how
easy it was to run my own analyses.
It was nothing short of superb. We
were quickly sold on Halo.”

AX, and SQL Server and that was
it. Two training sessions – a basic
‘how-to’ for about 10 people who

Halo for the supply chain
The ability of Halo to report across
multiple ERP systems has provided
Bell Tea & Cofee Company a
complete view across its supply
chain. For example, the company’s
ofce and hotel services arm, Café
Express, uses Accredo (accounting
and business management
software); Bell runs on AX; and
a third “virtual entity” that is the
cofee machine servicing division
runs on AX but services clients of
both Café Express and Bell. Halo
allows for better tracking and
reporting across all systems on
critical activity like supply of
machines, consumables, machine
faults, utilisation and technical
support.
