Aim of Course The aim of the course is to ensure the general knowledge about the
entrepreneurship and related definitions, as well as their interpretations and a
role. As a result of the course students shall have clear understanding about
the forms of entrepreneurship, main aspects related to the establishing a
company and planning, as well as students should have skills to analyse main
problematics related to the setting up and running a business. Independent
learning work of students shall promote skills independently analyse and
assess the situation in particular business field or an industry.
Preliminary knowledge

Students should have basic knowledge about the business and economy
learned within the secondary education institution. Students should have
knowledge of foreign languages in order to be able to use international
sources of the literature. Students should have presenting skills in writing
and oral, as well as should be able to discuss and defend their views in
seminars and class works.

1. Entrepreneurship and entrepreneur.
2. Business idea.
3. Techniques of analyses of an industry..
4. Factor of entrepreneurship “labour”. Labour force within the
company. Wages and labour costs within the company.
5. The size of the enterprise. Problematics of small and medium sized
enterprises.
6. The size of the enterprise. Large enterprises. Growth of the company,
its strategic alternatives.
7. Horizontal cooperation within the business.
8. Definition of the product.
9. Prices. Pricing. Types of the Price. The pricing policy.
10. Management mechanisms within the company.

11. Overall theory of the decision making within the company. The
process of the decision making.
12. Business risk.
13. International aspects of entrepreneurship.
14. Methods of the access to external markets.
15. Social and ethical aspects of the enterprise.

Planned learning activities
and teaching
methods

Students participate in lectures, participate within individual and group tasks
within the class, discuss within seminars, as well as prepare an individual
task.
The final mark contains of following positions: 10% active participation
within lectures, seminars, in performing tasks in a class, 10% tests, 40%
preparation of the independent work, 40% writing exam at the end of the
course.
