Open Universities Australia (OUA) is an online higher education organization based in Australia. The organization was previously known as The Open Learning Agency of Australia. The current chairman is Sam Weiss, and the Chief Executive Officer is Paul Wappett.

Seven Australian-based universities control the ownership of the organization. A Board of Directors, consisting of nominees from the universities that own the organization, governs OUA. In addition, there are also up to 5 independent Directors on the board at any one time. While the majority of enrolled students are based in Australia, courses are available to students globally. Most undergraduate courses offered have no first year entry requirements, and there are no quotas for most courses. The organization has approximately 170 qualifications available online, which are provided by Australian universities and other education providers.

Online courses are also offered by Australian Universities. A group of 11 United States universities, plus Trinity College, Dublin, in Ireland and the University of Melbourne in Australia, have teamed up with 2U, an online education provider, to offer online undergraduate summer courses. The consortium, known as Semester Online, is offering 24 courses from June 9 to Aug. 8. Students will meet in real-time sessions twice a week, with online classrooms capped at 20 students. Courses will earn transferable academic credits issued by the college or university offering the class. Tuition will cost $2,250 per course. The courses range from forensics at Boston College to history at Trinity College and advanced calculus at the University of Notre Dame.

The Universities of Australia which offer these courses are:
