Asian Markets Update by Epic Research

Asian equities declined on Tuesday, tracking declines on Wall Street, while caution also set in ahead of the second-quarter corporate reporting season.

China’s Shanghai Composite declined 0.20 percent or 4.20 points at 2,055.72. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was down 0.11 percent or 26.54 points at 23,514.38.

Japan’s Nikkei shed 0.61 percent or 94.26 points at 15,285.18. Singapore’s Straits Times fell 0.28 percent or 9.17 points at 3,282.40.

South Korea’s Seoul Composite slipped 0.22 percent or 4.50 points at 2,000.62. Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted was flat at 9,517.14.

Asian equities extended losses into a third session on Wednesday following a selloff on Wall Street overnight and steady Chinese inflation data.

China%u2019s Shanghai Composite fell 4.25 points to 2,059.77 and Hong Kong%u2019s Hang Seng declined 290.87 points or 1.24 percent to 23,250.51. Japan%u2019s Nikkei 225 Average lost 60.86 points or 0.40 percent to 15,253.55, at 8:00 hours IST.

Singapore%u2019s Straits Times slipped 13.30 points or 0.41 percent to 3,270.04 and South Korea%u2019s Seoul Composite was down 9.36 points or 0.47 percent to 1,997.30. Taiwan Weighted lost 48 points or 0.50 percent to 9,482.98.

Asian equities were mixed on Thursday following minutes from the Federal Reserve%u2019s latest meeting and as caution set in ahead of key Chinese data.

China%u2019s Shanghai Composite was up 3.55 points or 0.17 percent at 2,042.16 and Hong Kong%u2019s Hang Seng gained 44.44 points or 0.19 percent to 23,220.51 while Japan%u2019s Nikkei 225 Average fell 32.26 points or 0.21 percent to 15,270.39, at 7:55 hours IST.

Singapore%u2019s Straits Times rose 13.61 points or 0.42 percent to 3,289.07 and South Korea%u2019s Seoul Composite was up 1.02 points to 2,001.52. Taiwan Weighted climbed 42.78 points or 0.45 percent to 9,532.76.
