Asian stocks kicked off the week with gains following positive data releases from the region’s two biggest economies and a strong US lead.

China’s Shanghai Composite was up 0.11 percent or 2.20 points at 2,032.15. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng added 0.77 percent or 177.87 points at 23,128.87.

Japan’s Nikkei rose 0.59 percent or 88.21 points at 15,165.45. Singapore’s Straits Times gained 0.30 percent or 9.84 points at 3,309.27.

South Korea’s Seoul Composite was flat at 1,997.14. Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted was flat at 9,142.83.
 
Asian equity markets were mixed on Wednesday with momentum subdued following a lackluster session on Wall Street.

China%u2019s Shanghai Composite was flat at 2,052.42. Hong Kong%u2019s Hang Seng fell 0.37 percent or 87.34 points at 23,228.40.

Japan%u2019s Nikkei added 0.24 percent or 35.65 points at 15,030.45. Singapore%u2019s Straits Times was down 0.27 percent or 8.96 points at 3,284.86.

South Korea%u2019s Seoul Composite was up 0.12 percent or 2.49 points at 2,014.29. Taiwan%u2019s Taiwan Weighted was flat at 9,224.21.
 
Asian stocks were lower on Thursday amid concerns about global growth and escalating tensions in Iraq.

Hong Kong%u2019s Hang Seng was down 0.35 percent or 81.05 points at 23,176.24. Japan%u2019s Nikkei declined 1.30 percent or 195.24 points at 14,874.24.

Singapore%u2019s Straits Times was flat at 3,289.81. South Korea%u2019s Seoul Composite shed 0.22 percent or 4.36 points at 2,010.31.

Taiwan%u2019s Taiwan Weighted fell 0.44 percent or 40.33 points at 9,189.47. China%u2019s Shanghai Composite was down 0.10 percent or 1.98 points at 2,052.97.
 
Asian equities fell on Friday amid concerns about violence in Iraq and caution before key Chinese data.

Japan%u2019s Nikkei fell 0.78 percent or 116.85 points at 14,856.68. Singapore%u2019s Straits Times shed 0.15 percent or 4.96 points at 3,288.05.

South Korea%u2019s Seoul Composite declined 0.98 percent or 19.80 points at 1,991.85. Taiwan%u2019s Taiwan Weighted was down 0.30 percent or 27.84 points at 9,176.81.

China%u2019s Shanghai Composite was flat at 2,051.15. Hong Kong%u2019s Hang Seng rose 0.22 percent or 50.88 points at 23,225.90.
