Warren Beese

An all-round, operational leader with international experience having worked in Asia for 5
years as well as running multiple European and US manufacturing operations before that. A
trained engineer with an ONC and HNC in Mechanical and Production Engineering.
A member of both the IFT and ATTA, Warren has worked in interim assignments
internationally since 2002, including private equity as well as working for a PLC to turn round
a $150 million manufacturing business in Europe in the teeth of the recent recession. Warren
has also led an acquisition of a Taiwanese manufacturing company as well as managing a
‘ground up’ manufacturing plant development in Wuxi, China.
Warren now runs GSE International, a ‘operations’ improvement company specializing in DD
and transformational management of Chinese manufacturing businesses and has an office in
Hong Kong.

Karl Davies

Prior to joining Avery Dennison in 2008, Mr. Davies was Corporate Investment Advisor for EQ,
a private equity and strategic advisory group in Australia. He also spent 12 years at Tyco
International in various finance and operational leadership positions in the UK, Japan,
Singapore and Sydney. He has also worked for NACCO Industries, Eastman Kodak and Habitat
Designs Limited in multiple finance roles.
During his career, Mr. Davies has been recognized for financial excellence (twice),
organizational development, driving execution and change and his corporate social
responsibility work across the region.
As a Chartered Management Accountant, Mr. Davies earned a B.A. degree in Accounting and

Bill Lui

Rahul has over 20 years of structured finance experience across the Asia Pacific region in

Rahul joined GE Capital in 2007, and currently leads financial sponsor coverage and the

arranger of loans for leveraged acquisitions as well as for sponsor portfolio companies. Prior
to joining GE Capital, Rahul was the Head of Leveraged Finance for Asia Pacific at Sumitomo

? Involved in assisting the Monitor appointed to Sino Forest Corporation, which was listed on the
Toronto Stock Exchange with significant China operations, to execute various CFO functions such
as working capital management, company cash and cash flow management, collection of
accounts receivable, contract management, capital expenditure assessment, and business
performance review, identification of underutilized/underperformed assets/businesses for
disposal, liaising with key bond holders and other major stakeholders.
? Involved in the restructuring of Tack Fat Group International (HKEx: 0938), a listed company
engaged in the manufacture and retail sale of garments with outstanding debts of over
HK$1billion. In the assignment, Mr Yeung has assisted the provisional liquidators in reviewing and
monitoring the performance of the retail stores and preparing forecast to assess the viability of
the business.
? Involved in the restructuring of Peace Mark (Holdings) Limited (HKEx: 304), a listed company
involved in the manufacture, trade, distribution, and retail of timepiece products. Mr Yeung
assisted the provisional liquidators in operating the company’s manufacturing facilities located in
Shenzhen, PRC.
? Engaged in a restructuring and turnaround assignment of a privately owned apparel
manufacturing company. Eventually the company was able to turn around its operations without
the bank group’s need to keep monitoring the business closely.

Simon Yim

Simon Yim joined LDC (Asia) as Managing Director in June 2012. Prior to joining LDC, Simon
was the China Partner at The Longreach Group from 2007 to 2011 during which time he was
responsible for all Greater China transactions and portfolio management. Simon sat on the
board of EnTie Commercial Bank in Taiwan. Between LDC and Longreach, Simon spent 16
months in Dalian, China to set up a government sponsored Renminbi private equity fund.
Prior to joining Longreach, Simon was the General Manager of Asia Merger & Acquisition for
GE Infrastructure businesses and for GE China. In this position, he was responsible for the
